About Me

Strength for Life Personal Training was created from personal experience as much as professional practice.

I’m Owen, a qualified personal trainer based in Greystones, North Wicklow. My own journey into fitness didn’t follow the typical path. In fact, I didn’t step into a gym regularly until after Covid. Before that, like many people, training felt intimidating, inconsistent, or difficult to fit around work, family, and life commitments. Periods of inactivity, weight gain, and stop-start attempts were part of the process.

What changed wasn’t discovering extreme workouts or rigid routines. It was realising that fitness only works when it fits the life you’re actually living. Starting later gave me a valuable perspective.. I wasn’t coming at training as someone who had always been comfortable in gyms, but as someone who had to build confidence, habits, and consistency from the ground up.

That experience shapes how I work today. I’ve seen first-hand that most people don’t struggle because they lack motivation. They struggle because the plans they’re given don’t reflect real-world pressures like time, stress, energy, and confidence. Gyms can feel intimidating, programmes are often generic, and fitness can quickly become another source of pressure instead of support.

Strength for Life exists to offer a more realistic, sustainable approach. I work with adults who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable without fitness taking over their lives. Training is personalised, practical, and designed to hold up during busy or difficult weeks, because consistency matters more than intensity.

Whether sessions take place at home, in your garden, or through online coaching, the focus is always the same: clear structure, steady progress, and long-term results that support an active, independent life.

My Personal Training Services

At Strength for Life Personal Training, my training services are designed to help real people build real, long-term fitness. Whether you want to get stronger, move better, boost your cardio, manage your weight, or simply feel more energetic day-to-day, I create programmes that fit your lifestyle — not the other way around. Based here in Greystones (offering personal training to North Wicklow and South Dublin), I work with busy parents, beginners, and anyone getting back into exercise after a break. These core training areas are all about making fitness approachable, sustainable, and enjoyable, so you can build strength, confidence, and balance at your own pace.

Strength & Muscle Gain

Build real, usable strength through structured resistance and bodyweight training, helping you feel stronger, more capable, and confident in everyday life.

Weight Loss & Body Composition

Sustainable fat loss without extremes. Clear training, sensible habits, and accountability to help you lose weight, keep it off, and feel better long-term.

Event & Performance Preparation

Structured training for specific goals such as a marathon, charity event, or personal challenge — building strength, conditioning, and resilience so you arrive prepared, not exhausted or injured.

Mobility & Flexibility

Improve joint health, movement quality, and flexibility to reduce stiffness, ease aches and pains, and keep your body moving well as you get older.

Cardiovascular Fitness

Boost stamina and heart health using practical conditioning — walking, intervals, circuits, and endurance work that supports real life, not just time on machines.

Personal Training FAQ

What kind of clients do you work with?

I work with adults of all fitness levels, from complete beginners to more experienced exercisers.

Most of my clients want to build strength, move better, and feel more confident, without the pressure or intimidation of a busy gym environment.

Yes. All clients begin with a free consultation, either in person or online.

It’s a relaxed conversation to discuss your goals, training history, availability, and any concerns. There’s no obligation to commit after the consultation.

No.

For in-person training, I bring the equipment needed. Sessions can take place at your home, garden, or an agreed location.

For online coaching, programmes are designed around the equipment you already have access to, whether that’s a full gym or just the basics.

The first step is a free consultation.

We’ll chat about your goals, current fitness level, lifestyle, and any concerns you might have. I’ll explain how training would work for you, and from there you can decide if you’d like to move forward.

There’s no pressure and no obligation.

Absolutely.

Many clients start after a long break from exercise or with little previous experience. Training is built around where you are now, not where you think you “should” be.

That’s exactly who Strength for Life is designed for.

The focus is on realistic, sustainable training that fits around work, family, and real life — not perfection or all-or-nothing routines.

In-person personal training is offered through Training Blocks — prepaid blocks of sessions.

The more sessions committed to in advance, the lower the per-session rate. Training Blocks are designed to support consistency while allowing flexibility around real-life schedules.

You can see pricing here.

Training Blocks are structured, prepaid options for personal training.

They suit clients who want clarity, flexibility, and a defined period to focus on training. Each block includes an expiry period to encourage regular sessions and steady progress.

That depends on your goals, availability, and how often you’d like to train.

If you’re unsure, we’ll decide together during your free consultation. The aim is to choose the option that best supports consistency — not simply the biggest block.

Yes.

To support consistency and momentum, Training Blocks have expiry periods based on approximately one session per week, with flexibility built in. Full details are provided before purchase.

Yes. 1:2 personal training is available for friends, couples, or family members who want to train together.

Both participants follow the same Training Block structure and must commit together. Prices are listed per person and offer a lower per-session rate than one-to-one training.

That’s very common.

Training Blocks are designed to allow flexibility while still encouraging regular training. The focus is on progress that fits real life — not perfection.

Sessions are booked in advance.

At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, are counted as used. Exceptions may be considered in genuine emergencies.

Yes.

Online coaching is available for clients who train independently but want structure, guidance, and accountability. This includes personalised programmes and ongoing support, billed monthly.

No.

The consultation is completely free and there’s no obligation to proceed. It’s simply a chance to see if the approach is right for you.

Results vary depending on consistency, effort, and lifestyle factors.

The focus is on building strength, improving movement, and supporting long-term progress rather than quick fixes or short-term results.

“If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and results-driven personal trainer, I can’t recommend Owen highly enough.”
